The Innocence Project works to free the innocent, prevent wrongful convictions, and create fair, compassionate, and equitable systems of justice for everyone. Our work is guided by science and grounded in anti-racism. Since our inception, the Innocence Project has used DNA and other scientific advancements to prove wrongful conviction. To date, we have helped to free or exonerate more than 200 people who, collectively, spent more than 3,600 years behind bars. Our efforts have led to the passage of more than 200 transformative state laws and federal reforms. ABOUT THE POSITION
The Innocence Project recognises the immense power of strategic communications to advance legal and policy reform and, more specifically, the importance of exoneration stories to further the work of preventing wrongful convictions and achieving criminal legal system reform.
The primary focus of this internship is to support the communications team with building, implementing and maintaining effective design systems that promote brand consistency across print, digital and video projects. The Multimedia Design Intern will report to the Design Manager.
This position will be a 15-week paid internship with a minimum requirement of 40 hours per week. Duties will commence the week of May 30 and conclude the week of September 13.
This internship will be in person hybrid with 2 days in office, and 3 days remote.

The ideal candidate for this internship is a creative problem solver who understands the power that design, branding and creativity can have in helping the Innocence Project transform lives. This candidate is an intellectually curious, detail-oriented, design enthusiast, with a strong interest in the mission of the Innocence Project.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting with the day-to-day production of graphics and animations for our social platforms, editorial blogs, and other sites of digital storytelling
- Designing decks, invitations, newsletters and other graphics for internal communications
- Creating mood boards for special projects under the direction of the Design Manager
- Assisting the Design Manager with the coordination and production of video and photoshoots from start to finish
- Assisting with the organization and archiving of visual assets and projects
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrated proficiency with design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Indesign and/or Figma (Experience with Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere is a major plus, but not required.)
- Experience designing decks, presentations, style guides and moodboards
- General understanding of how to design and modify documents for print
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and adherence to deadlines
- Eagle-eye attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Strong interest in branding, video production, and/or art direction
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

SALARY
$19 per hour for undergraduate students and $21 per hour for postgraduate students
