Project Outline


The intern(s) will support the current and future fiscal year business efforts for the Clinical Site Startup & Engagement in the following departments


Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in Clinical Research


  • 100% of indications will have an epidemiologic defined target
  • 100% of new trials will have a diversity action plan consisting of at least 3 tactics
  • Support the development of a global diversity strategy

The intern(s) support includes, but not limited to data aggregation related to the demographics of disease, support trial teams with researching local community-based partnerships, and assisting in maintaining the D&I in Clinical Trials resource database (store on SharePoint),.


To develop their knowledge of the R&D process by shadowing CSSE colleagues in their support of at least 1 trial.


Interns will collect external communications related to D&I in Clinical Trials to help build their personal acumen.


Feasibility


  • The Intern would be to help identify the competitive landscape for a given trial/indication

Patient Recruitment & Retention


  • The intern(s) will support the Patient Recruitment and Retention strategy development with a focus on identifying successful methods for effective clinical trial messaging and tactics that will resonate with a broad segment of the population.

Study Start-Up


  • The intern will review the documents Study Start-Up is responsible for tracking
  • The intern will support the tracking of reportable metrics

Interns will have the opportunity to partner with the others business units (Clinical Operations, Regulatory, Legal, Field Medical, R&D Health Equity, etc.) that regularly collaborate in the support of business goals. Interns will develop their knowledge of the R&D process by shadowing CSSE colleagues. This will include attending trial team meetings and strategy sessions, as well as meeting with vendors and our CRO partners. Interns will be expected to present a conclusionary presentation highlighting their experience and sharing learnings.

  • Mid-level of proficiency with Microsoft applications- excel, word, and PowerPoint, Compiling statistics, database management, quantitative & qualitative research, basic project planning, research, and basic technical writing
  • Analytical approach and compiling data to help drive discussions and decisions
  • Ability to complete scientific research leveraging both internal & external resources
  • Basic ability to summarize scientific research and provide high-level reporting
  • Basic ability to data analysis, draw conclusions/interpret data
  • Presentation skills in development

What you bring to Takeda


  • Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis
  • Must be available full time (40 hours/week) a minimum of 12 weeks during the Summer months
  • Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0
  • Undergraduate, student with at least one year of university studies before internship. Undergraduates matriculating in the following areas of study- marketing, natural & physical sciences (biology, chemistry, physics, etc.), biostatistics, mathematics, bioengineering, biomedical engineering, gender studies, ethnic cultural studies, world culture, health education, nursing, medical sciences, pre-pharmacy, pharmaceutical studies, pharmaceutical science
  • Return to university for at least one semester post-internship
  • Takeda does not provide student housing or housing stipends

Requirements / Qualifications


  • Currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Takeda does not provide sponsorship for internship positions.
  • Available to work full-time (40 hours per week), within the core business hours of 8 00am – 5 00pm, for 10-12 weeks during the summer months.
  • Undergraduate, Graduate, PhD, MD student with completion of a minimum of one year of university studies.
  • Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship with Takeda.
  • Please note that Takeda does not provide intern housing or a housing stipend.

The hourly pay rate range is $20.00 per hour - $46.00 per hour. The final pay rate offered for this internship may consider several factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
