Who we are looking for:
ASCO’s Information Technology Department is in search of a highly motivated Data
& Analytics Engineer Intern to participate in creating data products from start
to end using Amazon Web Services (AWS) tools and architecture. The intern will
also have the opportunity to contribute to other department automation-related
projects and initiatives.

* Contribute to building a data pipeline
* Culminating in the development of Python solutions or other automation
projects
* Assist with the development and implementation of innovative technical
solutions
* Conduct research and analyze data to identify opportunities for automation
* Build and maintain automation solutions using a variety of tools and
technologies
* Test and debug automation solutions to ensure they are working as expected
* Document automation solutions and processes
* Present findings and recommendations to the team
Required qualifications:
* Currently enrolled in an undergraduate BA/BS degree program, or graduate
program, or recently graduated from a 4-year degree program. Candidates must
be at least a junior or entering their junior year of college at the start of
the internship.
* Hand-on experience working with SQL and Python
* Familiarity with database tools; and data ingestion, data mining, and/or
machine learning being a plus
* Basic knowledge of database engineering and data storage
* Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (365 preferred)
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Professionalism
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with flexibility
to adapt to changing needs
* Solid organizational and time management skills and impeccable attention to
detail
* Excellent customer service skills and professionalism
* Willingness to enhance skills
Duration: 10 weeks during the summer – June 10, 2024, to August 16, 2024. This
internship is 37.5 hours per week.
Compensation: This summer internship position is paid. Additionally, ASCO will
provide parking or a metro subsidy to the successful candidate.
Location: This internship is based in Alexandria, VA and will require working
onsite. Candidates should reside in the D.C. metro area or be able to relocate
